Feeling faint yet?
Chances are, the thought of at least one of those procedures made a chill run up your spine. But this isn’t your parent’s type of dentistry anymore….there’s no need to feel trepidation about dental visits in this day and age. It’s our job to help you to – if not exactly look forward to dental appointments – at least recognize how comfortable modern dentistry can be, and take the fear away from your visits.
If you’ve been putting off having a dental procedure done in anticipation of pain or discomfort, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to hear of all of the advances in modern dentistry that now eliminate a lot of the old “painful” stereotypes of the dentist. In your parent’s generation, or even early in your own, dentistry was a dreaded process – a necessity only when the patient couldn’t bear the pain of a tooth crisis. A dentist’s job was to pull teeth, fill cavities and patch up dental problems, often when they were at an advanced stage.
Today’s patients recognize the importance of regular continuing-care dental visits to avoid potential problems before they begin. Even once a problem occurs, there are new medications, sedation techniques and technological advances to resolve problems faster, more efficiently and with little to no discomfort.
Sedation Dentistry
It’s time to rest easy. Sedation Dentistry is here at Redfearn Family Dental!
The process for you is simple. After a careful review of your medical history, Dr. Trent Redfearn, a qualified sedation dentist, will choose the appropriate medication(s) and level of sedation to best meet your needs.
Driven to your appointment by a companion, you will most likely take a single pill before arriving at the office on the day of your treatment. More medication may be given depending on the type of procedures being performed and the duration of the appointment. You’ll find your treatment is performed more comfortably than you might ever have thought possible. You’ll be drowsy, and unaware of the time passing by. Our specially trained team will monitor you continually throughout the appointment.
When treatment is complete and you are ready to go home, your companion drives you back and stays with you until you are fully recovered (about 4-10 hours). The big plus? We can accomplish extensive amounts of dentistry at one time, and you’ll have little or no memory of the experience.
Your dental health is important and need not be neglected because you are nervous. Sedation Dentistry is simple and safe. This invitation is open to you, your friends and family.
